Learn to Knit

 

This is a four week course, led by our expert Jen Bullock, who will take you through

the basics of casting on and off, to shaping garments, reading patterns and

putting garments together. During the course you will have the opportunity to

create a simple item such as a pair of hand mitts or a hat.

Cost of Course £60, including materials.

 

A Deposit of £30 is required when booking. The balance is due on the first date of

the course. Notice of cancellation is required 48 hours before the first date,

Learn to Crochet

 

this is a four week course, led by local expert and designer Sue Summers. The course

will show you the basic stitches and you will learn how to crochet in the round, read

basic patterns and create simple flowers and granny squares.

Make a Crocheted Purse

 

This is a two week class, which will show you how to make a gorgeous vintage inspired crocheted purse, designed by author and expert Nikki Trench. The class will be led by

Sue Summers who has extensive experience of teaching Crochet and has assisted

Nikki at exhibitions, including the NEC in Birmingham.

 

Date: 2 weeks starting Wed 23rd March 7.00pm -9.30pm

 

Cost of Course £30

 

Please note you will need to bring your own materials for this class and you must

be able to read basic crochet instructions. More information will be given at time of

booking. If you wish to purchase materials from Roses & Rue a 10% discount will be available

 

Childrens Knitting Club

 

This is suitable for children aged 8 upward who want to learn how to knit. The class is

 led by a crb checked instructor with teaching experience. This is a fun

introduction to knitting and children are encouraged to create a simple item such

as a purse or wrist warmers. Materials are included in the cost of the course.

 

Day and Time: classes are run on a Thursday afternoon from 4PM - 5PM

Cost: £5 per session, including basic materials.

 

Classes are kept to a maximum of 6 Children so booking is essential. Please call into

the shop for details.

 

This club starts on Thursday 3rd February

 

Learn to knit socks on circular needles

 

Why not come and learn to make socks using two circular needles. This is an addictive pastime and previous classes have been exceptionally popular. Confident knitting

skills are required for this class. All materials are provided including needles and yarn

to complete a pair of socks. The course is run over two weeks and covers, joining in

the round, turning a heel, shaping a foot and grafting toes.

Cost:  £50, including quality Knit Pro needles and special sock yarn.

Felting Demonstration

 

Led by Jeanette Trim, come and see what its like to have a go at wet felting, a

tactile and versatile craft. Learn how to produce felt, incorporating other textiles,

and see how easy it is to produce gorgeous corsages, jewellery and bags. Be

inspired by this simple yet satisfying craft.

Bunting Making for beginners

 

This is a fun and creative way to spend a couple of hours, where you get the

chance to indulge your love of colour and design and create a 3 metre length of

bunting. You can choose from a range of fantastic fabrics to produce something

for the garden or a bedroom. This is currently one of our most popular courses so

you need to book early.

 

 

Date: Wed 16th March 10.00am - 12.30pm

 

Cost: £28.50 including materials

 

Please note you must have basic sewing machine skills and where possible bring a
